Terms of Use

These terms apply to the Unknot iOS app, developed and operated by Anshul Jain ("we", "us"). By using Unknot you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).

What Unknot is — and is not

Unknot provides an AI conversation partner ("Iris") to help you think through personal questions and decisions. Iris is an artificial intelligence, not a person, and Unknot is honest about that everywhere. Everything Iris says is for reflection and self-guidance only.

Unknot is not therapy and not professional advice. It does not provide medical, psychological, legal, financial, or investment advice; it does not diagnose or treat any condition; and it does not predict outcomes. Never make significant decisions solely on the basis of an AI conversation, and never disregard professional advice because of one. If you are in distress, contact a qualified professional or a crisis line — in the US and Canada, call or text 988. Your decisions, and their outcomes, are your own responsibility.

Subscriptions & purchases

• Iris Plus is an auto-renewable subscription (yearly or monthly) unlocking unlimited situations, questions, and check-ins. Prices are shown in the app before purchase.
• Where offered, a free trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, in iOS Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions.
• Deep Dive is a one-time purchase consumed on delivery inside the app.
• Billing is handled by Apple; request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Acceptable use

Don't reverse-engineer, resell, or misuse the app, and don't use its output to harm, harass, or make decisions about other people.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

Unknot is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy of AI-generated content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim.
