Welcome to Vocabword. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our vocabulary learning application.

Information We Collect

We collect minimal information to provide you with the best learning experience:

• Learning Progress: Words learned, quiz and word-game results, study streaks, and album completion, stored locally on your device
• Your Content: Custom word lists and words you create yourself, stored locally on your device
• Preferences: Your selected difficulty level, themes, app icon, appearance (light or dark), and notification settings
• Subscription Status: If you subscribe to Premium, payment is processed entirely by Apple's App Store

We Do NOT Collect

• Personal identification information
• Location data
• Contact information
• Browsing history

Analytics & Tracking

Vocabword contains no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party analytics SDKs. Diagnostic events are recorded locally on your device using Apple's system logging and are never transmitted to us or anyone else. Our App Privacy label reflects this: data is not used to track you.

Data Storage

All your learning data is stored locally on your device. We do not upload or sync your personal learning progress to external servers. Your data remains private and under your control.

Third-Party Services

Our app may use the following third-party services:

• Apple App Store: For processing in-app purchases and subscriptions
• Free Dictionary API (dictionaryapi.dev): When you tap the pronunciation button, the app requests an audio recording of that word from this service. Only the word itself is sent — never any personal data or identifier. If the request fails, your device's built-in speech is used instead.

These services have their own privacy policies governing the use of your information.

Children's Privacy

Vocabword is suitable for users of all ages (4+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is designed to be educational and safe for family use.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data (stored locally on your device)
• Delete your data — including custom words and lists — by uninstalling the app or using the reset option in Settings
• Opt out of notifications at any time
• Cancel your subscription through the App Store

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app and on this page. Changes are effective immediately upon posting.
