These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Anshul Jain ("we", "us") covering your use of the BiteWindow iOS application ("the app"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you obtained the app through the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where these Terms grant you more, these Terms control between you and us.
BiteWindow is a fishing-forecast tool. It combines weather, solunar timing, and species behavior into a daily score, suggests baits, and includes an on-device AI coach and a personal catch log. It stores your data on your device, requires no account, and is meant for planning recreational fishing trips. It is not a navigation, safety, or emergency service.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal use, in accordance with these Terms and the App Store rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except where the law expressly permits.
The app is free to download and use: you get today's BiteScore for one location, the home-screen widget, and the catch log at no cost. BiteWindow Pro is an optional auto-renewable subscription that unlocks the 10-day outlook, the bait recommendations, and the on-device AI Coach.
The BiteScore, bite windows, outlook, and bait suggestions are estimates generated from weather and astronomical data and general species behavior. Fishing is inherently unpredictable. We do not guarantee that any forecast is accurate or that you will catch fish. You rely on the forecast at your own discretion.
The optional AI Coach runs on your device and drafts suggestions from your question, your profile, and the current forecast. Suggestions can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable. The coach is informational only; it does not and cannot determine what species are in season or legal to keep in your area. You are solely responsible for knowing and following your local fishing regulations, seasons, size and bag limits, and licensing requirements.
Fishing and being on or near water carry real risks. BiteWindow is a planning tool, not a weather-safety or navigation service, and must not be relied on for decisions about severe weather, water conditions, or personal safety. Always check official marine and weather warnings and use your own judgment.
Everything you create in BiteWindow — your profile, spots, catch log, and photos — is yours. We claim no ownership and, because data is stored only on your device, we never receive it. You are responsible for backing up your device; if the app is deleted or the device is lost, we cannot recover your data.
You agree not to use the app for any unlawful purpose, to infringe others' rights, or to interfere with or abuse the app or Apple's services.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that forecasts will be accurate.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost fish, missed trips, or personal injury arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
We may add, change, or remove features over time. We may also update these Terms; if we do, we will update the effective date above, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it (remember to cancel any active subscription separately). We may terminate this license if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 4 through 10 survive termination.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and is not responsible for addressing claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
