Effective date: July 25, 2026
The short version: Cramforge does not collect your data. Your notes, scans, and questions stay on your device, practice questions are generated on your iPhone, and there is no server to send anything to. No account, no analytics, no tracking, no ads.
Cramforge is an iOS study app that turns your own class notes into practice exams, flashcards, and a countdown study plan. It is developed and operated by Anshul Jain ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
Pages you scan or import, the text recognized from them, the questions generated from that text, your classes, exam dates, study plan, and every practice attempt are stored only in the app's local database on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData. They are never transmitted to us. We operate no servers and have no ability to see, access, or recover them. Deleting the app deletes this data.
When you scan a page, Cramforge reads it using Apple's Vision framework entirely on your iPhone. The photograph and the recognized text are saved locally on your device. No image and no text is uploaded anywhere.
Practice questions, flashcards, and answers are written by Apple's on-device foundation model through the Foundation Models framework, running locally on supported iPhones. Your notes are used as the prompt for that local model and never leave your device. There is no cloud AI service in this app, no API key, and no third-party model provider. Generation works in Airplane Mode. On devices that do not support Apple Intelligence, generation is unavailable and the app tells you so; scanning, your saved pages, and everything you have already generated keep working.
Cramforge uses the camera only when you choose to scan a page of notes, and the photo picker only when you choose to import an image you already have. Apple's photo picker hands the app just the images you pick, so Cramforge never gains access to your photo library as a whole. Captured pages are stored locally in the app.
Cramforge Pro is sold as an auto-renewing weekly or annual subscription, or as a non-renewing Semester Pass, processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, payment details, or Apple Account information. The app checks your purchase status on-device using Apple's StoreKit framework. Purchases are subject to Apple's privacy policy.
If you allow notifications, Cramforge schedules reminders locally on your device from your own study plan and exam dates. There is no push server and we never send you messages. You can turn reminders off at any time in iOS Settings.
Cramforge is a general-audience study tool intended for high school, college, graduate, and professional-certification students. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information at all.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
