Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 12, 2026

The short version: Kidzy Learn does not send anything about your child anywhere. Apart from the App Store side of buying, which Apple handles, the app makes no network requests, which is why every activity works with the internet switched off. There is no account, no server of ours, no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. A first name, an avatar and an age level typed in by a grown-up stay on that iPhone, and we never see them.

Who we are

Kidzy Learn, listed on the App Store as "Kidzy: ABC Phonics & Tracing", is an iOS learning app for young children, roughly ages 2 to 7, with nine activities covering the alphabet, phonics, numbers, tracing, spelling, colors, shapes, quizzes and puzzles. It is developed and operated by Anshul Jain ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app handles and how. It is written to be read by a parent.

Children's privacy

Kidzy Learn is made for children, so this section comes first and it is the most important part of this page.

Kidzy Learn collects no personal information from your child, and none from you. There is nothing in the app to collect it with: no account, no sign in, no server of ours, and nothing that sends data out on its own. Everything a child does happens on the device in their hands. The two things that can leave the device, a shared progress card and a printed worksheet, go only where a grown-up sends them, and are described under Sharing and printing below. Point by point:

No advertising of any kind. There is no ad SDK in the app, so there is no behavioural advertising, no contextual advertising and no ad network that could build a profile of a child. There are no popups and nothing to tap by accident.
No analytics and no third-party trackers. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no attribution or marketing SDK, and no advertising identifier is read. No third-party service receives anything about your child, because none is present.
Nothing about your child leaves the device. There is no upload, no sync and no telemetry. Apart from the App Store, the app makes no network requests, which is why the activities work in Airplane Mode.
Almost nothing is asked for. There is no email field, no birthday, no photograph, no location, no contacts and no sign in. The only free text anywhere in the app is a child's first name on a profile, and a nickname or a first initial does that job just as well.
Nothing a child can send. There is no chat, no messaging, no camera, no photo library access, no comments, no other users to reach and no web browsing inside the app.
Purchases and web links sit behind a grown-up gate. Buying, restoring a purchase, starting the free trial, opening the unlock screen, opening any of the three web links at the foot of it, sharing a progress card, and renaming or deleting a child's profile all require solving a math question first. The App Store rating prompt is only ever offered after a grown-up has passed that gate.

Some things sit outside the gate on purpose, because they spend nothing and reveal nothing: switching between children, printing a tracing worksheet, the reminder explainer that can appear on the home screen once a streak has started, and the shortcut that opens the iOS Settings app if notifications were declined. The gate is a sensible barrier rather than a security system, so pair it with Apple's Screen Time controls if you have an older child who enjoys a challenge.

About COPPA. The United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act governs the personal information collected from children under 13. We operate no server. Nothing your child types or does in Kidzy Learn is sent to us or to any third party, so no personal information about a child is collected by us, disclosed to anyone, or shared. We hold no data about your child for a parent to review, export or delete, and there is nothing for us to seek your consent to collect. The only copy of anything is on your own device, under your control, and you can remove it at any time.

We also do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone of any age, because the app collects none at all.

What the app keeps, and where

Everything Kidzy Learn saves is written to the app's own private storage on your device, inside the area iOS reserves for it. There is one copy and it is on that device. In full, this is what it keeps:

Profiles. For each child, a first name, an avatar chosen from eight animal emoji, and an age level of 2 to 3, 4 to 5, or 6 to 7. Up to four children can each have a profile.
Learning progress. Which letters, numbers, colors, shapes and sounds have been explored, spelling and quiz results, tracing and puzzle completion, and a count of activities finished on each day.
Streaks and badges. The current and longest daily streak, the last day the app was used, the total number of active days, and which badges have been earned.
App state. Whether the introduction has been seen, whether the one-time unlock has been bought, when the free trial began, how many free plays are left today, whether the daily reminder is on, and a small record of how often the app has offered the App Store rating prompt.
Housekeeping. A few values the app needs to behave itself: how many times the math question has just been missed and when the short pause after three misses runs out, whether the reminder explainer has already been shown, and the identifier iOS hands back for the reminder it has scheduled, so the app can cancel that reminder later.

Each profile is given an identifier made on the device from the moment it was created plus a random number. It is not a device identifier, it is not linked to you, and it means nothing outside that one phone. Nothing in the list above is transmitted anywhere by the app.

Your child's name

Setting the app up asks for a first name, and so does adding a second, third or fourth child. It is the only personal detail the app has a field for. A nickname or a first initial works just as well, and is what we would suggest.

A name is trimmed to twenty characters when it is saved. It can be changed later from the profile switcher, after the grown-up gate, but the box will not save a blank one, so a name can be replaced rather than cleared. If you would rather no name were saved at all, the introduction has a Skip button in the top corner of every screen before the last one, and using it finishes setup without asking for a name. The home screen then greets your child with a wave instead of a name, and the weekly progress card says "your little learner".

When a name is saved, it is used in three places, all of them on your own device:

On screen, to greet your child and to label their progress.
In the spelling activity, where the name joins the list of words to spell if it is exactly three, four or five letters long, matching the word lengths of the Easy, Medium and Hard rounds. Names of any other length are left out. Most words have a recorded clip built into the app. Anything without one, including a name, is spoken by the iPhone's own built-in speech feature, which is part of iOS. Kidzy Learn makes no network request to speak it.
On the weekly progress card, which shows the name and avatar. That card is exactly why sharing it is placed behind the grown-up gate: once you send it somewhere, it is wherever you sent it.

What we do not do

We do not offer or require accounts, logins or registration.
We do not use analytics, crash reporting or advertising SDKs.
We do not show ads, and we never will in an app for children.
We do not track you or your child across apps or websites, and we do not read any identifier for tracking.
We do not send your child's name, avatar, age level or progress to any server. There is no server.
We do not sell, rent or share personal information. We never have it in the first place.
We do not use anything about your child to train any model.

Permissions

Kidzy Learn asks for one permission, notifications, and only when somebody taps to turn the daily reminder on. Nothing else is requested.

Microphone. Kidzy Learn plays sound, it does not record it. There is no recording feature anywhere in the app, and no audio is captured. iOS may list a microphone entry for Kidzy Learn, because the audio library the app is built with refers to Apple's recording interface. The app does not use that interface, so the permission is not requested and nothing is heard.
Not requested. Camera, photo library, location, contacts, calendar, motion, Bluetooth and Face ID. The app does not ask for Apple's app tracking permission either, because it does not track.

Letters, numbers, colors, shapes and most words are recorded audio clips built into the app, so they play with no connection. Anything without a clip, including a child's name, is spoken by the iPhone's own built-in speech feature, which is part of iOS.

Notifications

Reminders are off until somebody taps to turn them on, and nothing can be scheduled until iOS notification permission has been granted, which you are free to decline when iOS asks. Two places offer them. The Daily reminder switch on the progress screen asks the grown-up gate first. A short explainer can also appear on the home screen, once a streak has started, offering "Turn On Reminders" or "Maybe Later"; that one is not behind the gate, because all it can do is ask iOS for permission to show a fixed daily nudge. Turning reminders off is a single tap and is never gated.

When they are on there is exactly one: a local notification your own iPhone shows at 5 in the afternoon, saying that Pandy misses your child and that a few minutes of play keeps the streak alive. The wording never changes, so it contains no name, no progress and no personal information at all.

There is no push server and no push token is ever created, which means we have no way to send you a message even if we wanted to. Turning the reminder off in the app cancels it straight away, and iOS Settings can switch notifications off for the app entirely.

Purchases

Kidzy Learn Premium is a single one-time purchase, not a subscription, processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, your payment details or your Apple Account information. The app asks Apple's StoreKit framework whether the unlock has been bought and then keeps a single yes or no value on the device. No receipt, no transaction number, no Apple Account details and no purchase history are stored by the app or held by us. Purchases are subject to Apple's privacy policy.

The network traffic Kidzy Learn takes part in is between your iPhone and Apple: connecting to the App Store when the app starts, fetching the current price, buying, restoring, and Apple's own ratings prompt. None of it reaches us, and none of it carries anything about your child. Everything else in the app runs on the device.

Sharing and printing

Two things can leave the app, and both hand over to a standard iOS sheet where you decide what happens next.

The weekly progress card is an image showing your child's name, avatar and progress. Tapping share raises the grown-up gate first, then hands the image to the iOS share sheet, where you alone decide where it goes.
The tracing worksheet goes to the iOS print sheet. The page itself carries no name, no avatar and no scores, which is why it is not gated. The six letters on it are picked from the ones your child has not opened yet, but nothing about that appears on the page.

Backups

Because everything lives on the device, it can be included in the ordinary backups you may already be making. If iPhone backups to iCloud or to a computer are switched on, the app's stored data may form part of them, which is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to your backups.

Deleting everything

There is no server-side copy to ask us for, because there is no server. A grown-up can delete a child's profile from the profile switcher after passing the gate. Deleting Kidzy Learn from the device removes everything the app stored: profiles, progress, streaks, badges and settings. Nothing about your child survives anywhere else, and nothing needs to be requested from us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
