Onto your iPhone, and nowhere else. Sift has no servers and makes no network calls. That means nobody — including us — can see your documents.
When you scan a page, Sift reads the text on it using on-device recognition, then works out the most title-worthy line, who the document is from, what kind of document it is, and what date it carries. It fills the title in for you before you save — so you tap Save instead of typing a name. Every part of it is editable if it guesses wrong.
Automatic titling reads whatever the camera could see. Faint printing, unusual layouts, handwriting, and glare all make it harder. Tap the title on the save screen and type your own — and a cleaner, flatter, better-lit capture usually fixes the next one.
Swipe down on your Home Screen to open Spotlight and type a word that appears inside the document — not just its title. Sift adds the recognized text of every scan to iOS's on-device search index, so searching "lease" finds the lease. Tapping the result opens it in Sift.

In Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your device, or tap Manage Subscription inside Sift's Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel it. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Open Settings inside Sift and tap Restore Purchases, making sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. If it still doesn't appear, email us.
Because Sift keeps everything on-device, your documents move with an encrypted iPhone backup or a device-to-device transfer. If you set the new phone up as new, documents that existed only in Sift on the old phone won't be there. Export anything important as a PDF before switching.
Yes — iOS does this for any app, system-wide: long-press the Sift icon on your Home Screen and choose Require Face ID (iOS 18 or later). That locks the app and hides its preview in the app switcher, with no extra setting inside Sift.
No. Sift links no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs at all — which is why you'll never see a tracking permission prompt from it.
