Which TVs work?

Casting photos and videos works with TVs that support DLNA, which includes most smart TVs.

My TV is not found

The TV asks me to allow RemoteNest

The first time you connect, most TVs show a prompt on the TV screen. Choose Allow with your TV's own remote to finish pairing. Samsung and LG TVs then remember RemoteNest, so you do not have to approve it every time. If you chose Deny by mistake, remove RemoteNest from the TV's list of connected devices in its settings and connect again.

The remote stopped responding

RemoteNest reconnects on its own when you come back to the app, and it can send a Wake-on-LAN signal to TVs that support it. If buttons still do nothing, check that the TV is on and on the same Wi-Fi, then tap Disconnect in Settings and connect again from Find Your TV.

No TV nearby? Try the demo

On Find Your TV, tap No TV? Try the demo to control a virtual TV inside the app and see what every button does. Nothing is sent to a real TV. To leave the demo, tap Exit demo in Settings.

Casting does not start

On the Cast screen, tap Find TVs and pick your TV, then tap Select Photos or Select Video. Keep RemoteNest open while you cast. Your TV must support DLNA and the file format; MP4 is the most widely supported video format. Large videos can take a moment to start.

Why do I see ads?

Ads from Google AdMob keep RemoteNest free, with every feature included and no purchases. Where your region requires consent, RemoteNest 1.0.5 and later ask for your ad choices with Google's consent form and show Privacy choices in Settings, where you can change them at any time.

How do I delete my data?

RemoteNest keeps only your saved TV, its pairing keys and your settings, on your phone. Clear the app's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app to delete all of it. The Privacy Policy has the details.
